More 'Death Of Journalism'

By Michael The Libertarian

I don't know why new depths to which some people sink can still amaze me. I should be used to the fall of Western civilization by now, but I'm not.

Todd Starnes is a journalist, pro-life advocate, frequent guest on “Fox & Friends” (Fox News' morning news offering from 6:00 to 9:00 AM). I believe he's also a “Fox News Contributor” and I think he writes a column on their website.

He is also the author of “The Deplorables' Guide to Making America Great Again” and, as you're about to find out, he has his own website, toddstarnes.com.

I was tooling around the interwebz, early this morning and I stumbled across this item on Starnes' website.

As I said, at the out-set, I was amazed. Flummoxed, even.

With the video evidence and at least one other person (who was with the victim), I think this is probably a slam-dunk that charges will be filed, but that's not my point …

My point, as I tilt at yet another windmill, is why is something like this even possible? Oh, I know there's evil in the world, but it's more than that.

Remember back, a couple of years ago, when there were lots of murmurings about how it's “okay to punch a 'Nazi'”? I think this might stem from that.

The young lady, who was a pro-life activist, was standing in a spot where, presumably she was allowed to stand, legally (In fact, I heard a voice on the video say: “This is our land”). She was engaged in a legal activity which is based upon her 1st Amendment right.

Somehow though, this person on the video got it in her head that it was appropriate to just walk up, without saying very much and sucker punch a teen-ager. On what planet is that civil?

While that is my main point, I have another:

In doing my due diligence to see if there were any updates on the story (some hours, later), I did a Google search to see if I could find any updates. What I saw bolsters one of my favorite contentions:

If you look at this link, maybe you'll notice what I noticed.

On the first page of results on a Google search, you'll find: Fox News, The Blaze, various Youtube links, Gospelherald.com … what you won't find are links to the story from ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, Huffington Post, anything with “Times” in it (New York, Washington, L.A., whatever), anything with “Post” in it (except for “Huffington”. I'm referring to “The Washington ...”, “The New York ...”).

Some of these outlets here, in the United States, would be considered amongst the “top ten” when we're talking about news sites. Certainly, Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC could be classified that way (maybe arguably).

Why is it that none of the “main stream” media have anything on this story? Well, I think we can safely say: “They don't think the story is news worthy”. That would be apparent, based upon the story's exclusion from their sites.

So, they don't think it's news worthy on some level and for some reason.

I can only think of a few reasons why this wouldn't be considered news worthy. It could be they're not convinced about the veracity of the incident. Well, there's video that's a fact. Is it that they think the incident was “staged” in some way? Hmmm … in my not so humble opinion (IMNSHO), I would wonder why someone would go to the trouble to stage such an incident and I would find that to be news worthy. I would start digging around to try to get that story.

Unfortunately, I think the answer is more simple. I have said before and I am convinced the “main stream” media, whom I believe to be almost completely out of touch with the majority of Americans, has become nothing more than the propaganda arm of the DNC. Maybe that's a bit harsh. Certainly, at least the propaganda arm of the liberal agenda.

No more journalism; just advocacy.
